Our flight left Monday morning at 6 am. We got into Miami around 9. And let me tell you it is/was hot in Miami! lol We ended up getting on the cruise ship around 2. We had to take a shuttle from Miami to Ft. Laduerdale.
When we got to our balcony room it was all decorated in honeymoon decorations. Our travel agent had bought them and had them put in there for us. It was really special! And the balcony was awesome! Any time we were in our room we were on that balcony. It was so cool to wake up in the morning and see where you were at. We had a few drinks on the 1st night and met up with some fellow knotties who had gotten married the day before. We were so excited to finally meet each other! We had been talking for months.
Tuesday morning we woke up in Key West Florida! Talk about crystal clear gorgeous blue water!!! We did not have any excursions booked thur Royal Caribbean so we were just going to walk around. Well when we got off the boat of course they have people trying to sell there trips and what not. Well one bit me in the right place! It was a shark excursion! We took a boat ride out in the Keys where we anchored and on each side of the boat a half of a dead fish was put in the water. With in 10 mins there were at least 10 sharks! It was so freaking awesome! They were attacking the crap out of the fish. And these guys are not the kind that chum up the water. They never go to the same spot and they have a love for the sharks. I learned so much about the different kinds of sharks. We cant wait to go back and take the boys! They would love it!
When we got back on the boat they had a Honeymooners party for all of us honeymooners. There were 80 couples on the ship for that cruise! I ended up winning a nasty bottle of champagne. YUCK!
Wednesday, oh Wednesday was fun! We were in Cozumel on Wednesday where we hung out with fellow knotties, Charlie and Carolyn. They were a blast! Let me 1st tell you about this beach we went to. It was $29 per person but that included OPEN BAR! Yes that is right I said Open Bar! Lets just say we got a little tipsy! Our beach butler was awesome! He had another drink brought to us before we were done with the ones we had!
Chris just sat on the beach and let me spend money and have fun! I rented a wave runner, had countless pictures taking with stuff, got an airbrushed tattoo, and bought a mask and snorkel so I could go snorkeling. It was so much fun! But I got so burnt!
Thursday might have been my favorite day! We were in Belize. We went on an hour long bus ride to the middle of nowhere. Where we than boarded a boat for an hour and half boat ride up the Belize river. For some reason I thought this ride was going to be slow. OMG we were flying around bends, left, right, left again. It was so fast and so fun! We saw wild spider monkeys! They came super super close to the boat, talk about awesome! Once the boat ride was over we were at the Mayan Ruins of Lamanai. We hiked thru the rain forest to this huge ruin. We got there and the tour guide was like ok you have 10 mins, 5 up 5 down. I new I wanted to do it, so I was off. Chris followed me of course. Well let me tell you I think we were crazy for climbing this thing! It was huge and so steep that there was a rope to hold on to. But we made it and the view at the top was awesome!! I stayed up there for a while while Chris hurried his way back down. He is scared of heights. We saw a few more little ruins and than had a wonderful Belize style lunch cooked by Belize women. It was so good!! We than had to take the 1.5 hour and 1 hr bus ride back to the ship.
Before coming to Belize I was so naive about some things. I couldn't believe the way they live. It really but into perspective how lucky we are.
Friday we were at sea all day. I drank a little and had this bright idea to enter a bully flop contest and be the ONLY girl with 10 guys! Well I must say that I did pretty darn good! I came in 4th out of 11 of us! My form was awesome!
