Oh Gatlingburg how I miss you!

I am such a vacation freak!  Maybe it is because we didn't get to do a family trip this year or what but I am already planning our 2013 Summer vacation.  Chris will tell you he needed that break, that he was vacationed out.  But not I, I will never be vacationed out.

So for the third time we will be going back to Gatlinburg, Tn.  Hey, what can I say I love it there!  You have the best of both world's.  You have the nature side, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and then you have the fun tourist side, Gatlingburg, Tn.

I mean look at this and tell me you wouldn't want to go here!

DC Trip!

We had a fun time. We watched the fireworks on the National Mall on Saturday,


On Sunday we all went to a Washington Nationals baseball game.






Later on that day Chris, the boys and myself went to the Natural History Museum. That place was really cool. They had tons of dinosaur bones, animal bones, human bones, they also had lots of taxidermy animals. The Hope Diamond is also in there, that is so pretty!



On Monday Chris had to go to a meeting so the boys got up early and took off sightseeing. Our 1st stop was the National aquarium. They had alligators, see horse, an Octopi (as Blake calls it), a really cool sea turtle, sharks and tons of other pretty fish.




After that we headed off to take a walk around the White House. It was neat to get to walk around it, I didn't realize how close you actually get to get to it. After that long walk around the White House Blake wanted to go back to the Natural History Museum, so we went back there. We ended the day at our new hotel.




Our new hotel was about a 10 min walk from the National Zoo, do you notice how everything has National in front of it. SO that was Tuesdays destination. It is not as big as the STL Zoo and doesn't have half the animals that the STl Zoo has. But what it has that we don't have are Panda Bears. And oh my are they so freaking cute!! I met some of my internet moms from DC at the zoo. Blake had a great time there, he was so excited to see the Pandas.





Wednesday morning we just stayed at the hotel since we had done so much walking the previous days. But in the afternoon we went on a DUKW (Duck) tour. It took us around all the major memorials, museums, and even different important government buildings. It than took us in the Potomac River where we came out of the water right under the take off runway at the Reagan airport.


Oh but yesterday was the crazy day! We ended up missing our 1:25 pm flight home. So in order to get home we had to take a flight to Tampa and than from Tampa take another flight to St. Louis! It took us 11 hours from the time we left the hotel from the time we got home. I think we could have drove in that time! So that really sucked! Oh and to top it all off Jermiah screamed almost the whole time on ALL of the flights. Not to mentions everytime you put him in his stroller or a highchair!

But all in all it was a great trip

Vacation!

Well we finally got to go on Vacation. We normally take a fishing trip to Norfork Lake in Arkansas the 2nd week in May. Well last year a lil guy named Jeremiah decided to come instead. So this year we went May 9th-15th. We rented a boat but didn't get to go out on it much. The main lake was rough and we didn't want to take Jeremiah out in that. Plus Jeremiah hated the life jacket! On Monday Blake and Chris went out with Robert with Lees Lite Lines. They got 2 Strippers, 3 small mouth bass, and 2 large mouth bass. I got a little Jealous so Blake and I found a guide to take us out on Thursday. We used Bink. He was great. Thursday he has a morning radio show out on the lake and Blake got to be the guest!! He was so excited to be on the radio!! We ended up catching a Stripper, some hybrids, white bass and Blake got a really nice large mouth.
